DISTRICT SPECIALIST (TECHNICIAN) The Adair County Soil and Water Conservation District is accepting applications for a District Specialist. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30, with health insurance and retirement benefits. Starting hourly wage is $15.00 with advancement opportunities. Advancements are based on a progression line with required testing milestones. Candidate must be a self-starter with computer, math, and mechanical skills. Candidate must possess the ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions on all types of terrain. This position entails field work, including surveying and working with landowners to plan and design conservation practices (ponds, terraces, etc.). Candidate must have good communication and organizational skills. Basic farm knowledge and surveying experience is helpful. The ability to work with the public, adapt to day-to-day changes, use sound judgement, and exercise discretion is required. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the U.S., possess a valid driver's license, and be 18 years of age or older. A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
