District Specailist I Ste. Genevieve DISTRICT SPECIALIST Duties of this position are to survey, layout, and design conservation practices. Applicant must have knowledge of computer programs such as: GIS mapping programs and Microsoft Office. The ability to work well and communicate with staff and landowners is a must. District Specialist I Jefferson The Jefferson County Soil & Water Conservation District has a part-time/900 hours per year, permanent position available for a District Program Specialist I/Technician. Position is for office and field work. Technician work includes designing, staking, and completing plans to install conservation practices on agricultural land as well as providing technical assistance to cooperators on the installation and maintenance of practices. This position helps to provide district program awareness, manage case files, assists with clerical tasks, poster contest, and newsletter. General agriculture knowledge is desired, and other qualifications include; strong computer skills, good public relation communications and the ability to be flexible as job duties may vary. Applicant must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. College degree is preferred but not required. Applicant must have the ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions, must be dependable, have a valid driver’s license and pass a security background check. Starting rate is somewhere from $12.00 to $13.79 per hour depending on experience. Increase in salary will be determined upon the employee meeting job expectations and as experience and training has been gained.
