2011 Cooperator of the Year Award
The Bollinger County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) awarded Bob Jones with the '2011 Cooperator of the Year' award. The Cooperator of the Year award is given annually to a Bollinger County landowner that goes above and beyond to help conserve soil, water and timber through sound conservation and agricultural practices on their farm.
Over the years, Bob has completed seven (7) Dry Hole Structures (DWP-1) with assistance through the Bollinger County SWCD and has completed many more at his own expense. He also has more structures that he is planning to start in the future. Bob is known for his promotion of this practice. Dry Hole Structures are a very cost effective way of preventing erosion on Bollinger County farms.
Bob has been a dozer contractor for a number of years installing conservation practices in the Patton and Sedgewickville areas.
The Bollinger County SWCD appreciates the time and effort Bob Jones has taken to implement conservation practices that are conducive to saving soil and improving water quality.
If you would like more information about Dry Hole Structures or any other cost-share practices, please contact the Bollinger County SWCD at 573-238-2671 ext. 3.
