We have been a Partner In Education with three Livingston County classes since 2007. Our partner classes are:
Southwest 1st graders (Mrs. Drenda Neptune)
Chula 3rd/4th graders (Mrs. Debbie Moore)
Field Elementary 3rd grade (Mrs. Billie McGraw)
Every month during the school year we visit each class and share a lesson about soil. Most of those lessons even incorporate a snack for the kids....like edible soil profiles (aka dirt pudding)!! We are very proud of our partnership with these teachers and youngsters and believe it is a wise investment to teach children the importance of becoming a good steward of the land. At the end of each school year, we take our classes on a field trip to the Litton Agri-Science Center in Chillicothe to show them the different soil conservation practices that are in place there. Following are some photos from the end of year field trips.
