Root Plow

Rental Item Price:
$5/day
Rental Item Description:

Early spring is an excellent time to plow fence rows and tree lines for moisture and nutrient conservation.  This tool makes tree removal unnecessary to eliminate crop competition. Never operate the root plow until you know the locations of all buried hazards such as gas, electric, and water lines. A two to three foot deep furrow is the goal. Do not attempt the depth at one pass. Accomplish this depth in two or more operations. Excessive stress is likely to cause equipment damage. Plow two feet out from the tree's dripline and at least 15 feet from the main trunks. Hedgerows should be plowed every three to five years. The district's root plow requires a 70 h.p. tractor and can be rented at $5 per day.
