  • Full Time District Specialist Opening

    The Gentry County Soil & Water Conservation District has an opening for a full time District Specialist I.  This position is responsible for office duties such as assisting landowners with cost-share programs, planning, case file updates, filing and much more.  This position is also responsible for performing some field duties. Gentry County is a high workload county.  Applicants must have computer skills, have agricultural knowledge, be self motivated, possess strong organizational skills, and be able to communicate effectively and work closely with the public.  Benefits included.  Applicants must have a valid driver’s license and pass a background check.   • New Cost-Share Policies Approved

    Cost-Share limit per landowner per year - $30,000 for terraces, waterways, diversions, basins for fall projects and for summer projects $35,000. Earthwork Rates have changed:$3.50 a FT for Broadbase Terraces, $3.04 a FT for Narrowbase Terraces, $3.20 for CYs, $1.58 a FT for Trench/Backfill<12, $1.87 a FT for Trench/Backfill >12, $3493.00 per acre for Waterways. Cost-Share will be allowed for structures to be constructed in idle or crop fields. Cover Crops can be cost shared up to 200 Acres. Cost-Share for Cover Crops does not count toward the $30,000 Cost-Share limit for other practices.

  • Gentry County SWCD Internship Position

    GENTRY COUNTY SWCD INTERNSHIP POSITION OPENING   The Gentry County Soil and Water Conservation District has an internship position opening for the summer.  Applicants must be a higher education (college, university, technical school) student within any major.  The position is part-time (2 days a week) and will begin May 6 thru August 23. A resume can be dropped off at the Gentry County Soil and Water Conservation District.
