2014 Cooperator of the Year: Wayne Fuemmeler
This year’s cooperator of the year farms with his son Justin. Together they grow corn, soybeans and wheat on around 700 acres of owned and rented ground they also have 200 head of cattle. He is currently working on installing conservation practices on his farm near Armstrong. He is building terraces and water and sediment control basins through the Environmental Quality Incentive Program and the State Cost Share Program. He has been 100% no-till for 9 years now and is an advocate of no-till. He is currently working on a conservation plan that will include nutrient management and cover crops this coming year.
