Stone County Board Election Nomination Period runs Nov. 3 - Dec 2, 2025 for Areas 2 and 4.  Qualifications to be a Board Supervisor are listed below:

Stone Co. SWCD 2026 Election: Voting Period will run between Feb. 1 - Feb. 20, 2026 for Areas 2 and 4; Ballots can be picked up at our office or requested by email to melissa.white@swcd.mo.gov; questions call 417-723-8389.

The qualifications required to be a supervisor are: 1. Being a land representative from the district. A land representative is defined as the owner or representative authorized by power of attorney of any farm lying within an area proposed to be established, and subsequently established, as a soil and water conservation district under Chapter 278, RSMo. Each farm is entitled to representation by a land representative: provided, however that the land representative is a taxpayer of the county within which the soil and water district is located, 10 CSR 70-4.010(1)(I) 2. Residing in, or owning a farm in, the area from which he/she is nominated where there is an expiring term. 3. Being a cooperator of the district, defined as, "a person who is actively engaged in farming and practices conservation activities related to agriculture”. 4. Being a current resident and tax-paying citizen of the county for at least two years preceding the election date. Section 278.110, RSMo. 5. Be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the election date and be willing to serve the full term they are elected for. 6. Provide a valid mailing address to the program office and notify the program of any change of address during their term.

NOTICE OF ELECTION OF SUPERVISORS
STONE COUNTY SWCD BOARD ELECTION
Let it be known that the Stone County Soil and Water Conservation District will hold an election for one supervisor in each of two different territories in the county. Territory [2 ] All sections within Township 25 and Range 22W, Range 23W and Range 24W and Territory [4 ] includes all sections within Township 24, Range 23W and Range 22W. All sections within Township 23, Range 23W and Range 22W. All sections and partial sections within Township 22, Range 22W and 23W from State Hwy 413 east to Stone County eastern border with Taney County. All sections and partial sections within Township 21, Range 22W and 23W from State Hwy. 413 east to Stone County eastern border with Taney County.
The election will be publicized from Jan. 20 – Feb. 20th and the Election Voting Period will take place from February 1 to February 20, 2026. Ballots are available to print online at www.swcd.mo.gov\stone
Printed ballots may be returned to the district by mail and must be postmarked no later than February 20th. You may also vote in person from 8am – 4pm at the Stone Co. SWCD office, 108-B Cortney Lane, Crane, MO 65633. Each eligible land representative in the district is allowed one vote. A land representative is defined as the owner or representative authorized
by power of attorney of any farm lying within an area proposed to be established, and subsequently established, as a soil and water conservation district under Chapter 278, RSMo. Each farm is entitled to representation by a land representative: provided, however that the land representative is a taxpayer of the county within which the soil and water district is located.
The following qualified candidates will be considered for election:
Territory [2] – Brian Cutbirth in Township 25N / Hurley Political Township
Territory [4] – Jerry Youngblood in Township 21N / Pine A Political Township
Territory [4] – Angela Foster in Township 24N / Washington Political Township
Supervisors manage the administration of district policies and programs, as well as district personnel and funds. The district is supported by the one-tenth-of-one-percent parks, soils and water sales tax. Board Supervisor Qualifications
